It is used to lower high phosphate levels in certain kidney conditions. It is used to treat heartburn, upset stomach and indigestion.
How does Aluminium Hydroxide work ?
It is an antacid that lowers stomach acid. Aluminum binds phosphate in the GI (gastrointestinal) tract and prevents absorption.
How should Aluminium Hydroxide be used ?
Take 1 to 3 hours after meals as an antacid. Drink lots of non caffeine liquids unless told to drink less liquid by your doctor.
Common side effects of Aluminium Hydroxide ?
Bad taste in your mouth. Hard stools (constipation).
What do I do if I miss a dose ?
Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. - If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. - Many times this drug is taken on an as needed basis.
